линии и текстове - хронологични факти за живота на оперната Дива Мария Калас са
основната причина хореографът Галина Борисова да направи това соло.
«В ученическите години изиграх разнообразни роли и
участвах в представления на Софийската Национална опера. Играла съм кралица,
войници, плодове и зелечуци, даже дърво. Като се замисля това е голям опит.
Тогава и сега все още намирам всички тези превъплащения за излишно натоварени с
емоции и драматизъм, но въпреки това преразглеждам този ми опит като възможност
да интерпретирам някои исторически шедьоври. Всички женски образи са провокирани
от реални оперни героини, но нямат никаква достоверност. По този начин
освободих хореографията от излишна натовареност със сложни персонажи и
драматични либретa, като оставих само най-същественото. Надявам се.»

Galina Borissova is one of the most well established names with their own reserved territory in the contemporary dance world. She is a dancer and choreographer whose work has a very strong theatrical aspect. Galina Borissova first makes a significant impression at the American Dance Festival’96, where she was participating in the International Choreographers Residency Program. In 1998 she received first prize for her performance “A Never Ending Story” in Groningen/Holland at the International Competition for Choreographers. Galina has been awarded the golden medal for the solo Juanita Hildegard Bo at the Belgrade dance festival, 2006. She has created more than 35 projects of her own, that have been presented in Europe and USA. As a dancer she worked with such choreographers as Louise Bedard Dance, Deja Donne, Kubilai Khan Investigations. Galina Borissova is an editor and author of the book “Dance Images and Artistic Preferences”, 2011.
The performances of Galina Borissova demonstrate a wayward choreographic manner – neglecting the author’s sacredness, putting an accent on the imperfectness, using the “clumsiness”, sabotaging the established dance vocabulary. In the project Dancing Maria Callas the choreographer initiates author interpretations of emblematic female characters, performed by Maria Callas in the most well-known operas from the 19 th century of composers like Gioachino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti, Vincenzo Bellini. With her innate sense of irony and love for the absurd, with an ease and imagination Galina Borissova subverts the dramatics of the opera and shows respect to the great talent of Maria Callas. The solo has its second premiere within the frames of SOFIA DANCE WEEK 2013.
